Cora Scott is the City of Springfield, Missouri’s Director of Public Information & Civic Engagement—aka the city’s chief storyteller, connector, and occasional chaos wrangler. Since 2012, she’s led award-winning efforts to modernize local government communications, build trust through transparency, and turn civic engagement into fun and meaningful activities.
Cora is also the co-creator of Give 5, a nationally recognized “civic matchmaking” program that connects soon-to-be retirees with meaningful volunteer opportunities. As chair of the Missouri Route 66 Centennial Commission, she’s helping put the Mother Road back in the spotlight—just in time for its 100th birthday.
