Programs

AWC offers a variety of programs at the monthly meetings.  The goal is to provide a mix of business development, communications updates, and First Amendment.  Some of the recent programs include:

  • October 7, 2008 - Robin Rees discusses "The One Minute Manager Meets the Monkey"
  • September 2, 2008 – Barbara Lucks talked on “Going Green – Responsible Behavior or Fad?”
  • August 5, 2008 - Dr. Bennett and Dr. Holczer discussed four strategies to enhance communication skills in interpersonal relationships

  • June 3, 2008 – author and AWC member, Marlene Chism, presented Success Is A Given: Reading The Signs While Re-Inventing Your Life
  • May 6, 2008 – table top discussions among members
  • April 1, 2008 - panel discussion by SBU Students In Free Enterprise
  • March 4, 2008 - panel of experts discussed advertising messages in the nutritional and the grocery industry
  • February 5, 2008 - Joyce Owen Blackwood - a professional organizer and owner of Get It Together
  • January 8, 2008 - Tammy Mast, Gyn Cancers Alliance, healthcare in an age of managed care, effective communication with your health practitioner
  • December 4, 2007 - Holly Hesse - MSU basketball assistant coach, "Diamond Of Success" presentation for building a strong team and the effects of attitude in the workplace & in your life
