Scholarship Applications due in Spring

The Greater Springfield Chapter of the Association for Women in Communications annually awards a $500 scholarship to a student in the field of communications.  Applications for the Angela Gram Memorial Scholarship are emailed to university professors for distribution to students in February. The application deadline is in April (the exact date is announced in the application materials each year) and the winning student will be notified in late May.

Scholarship applicants must be a sophomore or junior and enrolled at Drury University, Missouri State University or Southwest Baptist University with a minimum course load of 12 credit hours as a daytime student or a minimum of six credit hours as an evening student.  In addition, applications require two letters of recommendation, two examples of student work and a current transcript.  All requirements are detailed in the application materials.

Selection of the scholarship winner is based on aptitude, interest in a communications or journalism career, academic standing and demonstration of community service and/or extracurricular activities.  Preference is given to members of the Association for Women in Communications student or professional chapters.  The winner will be honored at an AWC professional chapter meeting.
